Pre-beam commissioning (I) • October 3: cooldown starts on Dec. 1st and that we will not see collisions before Jan. 1st, 2007. • Present situation: cooldown starts on Jan 2nd and we will not see collisions before Feb. 1st. • Pre-beam commissioning status: • done • in progress • to be done • the two detectors installed • all cables (signal, HV and LV) connected • Gas recirculation system operational • Gas monitoring system – Bob/Craig • UV lamp monitoring -- Sasha/Tom/Craig • readout electronics operational & take data in stand-alone mode – Chi • HV software fully operational – Deepali/Takao

Pre-beam commissioning (II) • noise optimized • dead channel count • pedestal runs done routinely • timing and data taking with pulser done routinely • data taking with UV-lamp – Sasha/Tom/Craig • ADC charge calibration for all detector modules • first order zero suppression -- Maxim • Monte Carlo simulations • basic Geometry and materials in • reconstruction up to the pad response • 3d map in +- configuration • cluster reconstruction • tracking to HBD

Pre-beam commissioning (III) • HBD online monitoring, including: • Event display: pad response • Event display: cluster response • Pulse height distribution of a detector modules • Pad frequency vs. pad number • Cluster size distribution • Cluster pulse distribution • Tracking in the +- field • 3d field map Very good progress over the last two months in spite of QM and we still have about 2 months to complete this program. I think it is doable in this amount of time.
