  6. Is healing the same thing as increasing the quality of someone's life?

The Different Views Art Therapist's View - Believes Art Can Heal • Evidence through ways of knowing • Relying on emotion • believes that sense perception and language can lead to healing • believes that emotional healing is a type of healing • Evidence through areas of knowing • relies on human sciences • ethics of emotion and quality of life • opinion almost entirely based off of arts Medical Doctor's View - Believes Art Cannot Heal Physically • Evidence through ways of knowing • Looks at disease logically with reason • Uses sense perception to study physical healing logically • Evidence through areas of knowing • uses background of natural sciences and mathematics to come to a conclusion • looks for historical evidence • uses ethics based on ethical responsibility of doctors to physically heal
