  2. CEDE The Center for Engineering Design & Entrepreneurship CEDE is a flexible facility for students to develop their technical and professional skills through design based learning. The Center fosters collaboration between engineering and business colleges in partnership with industry to use the Center's facilities to design, construct and test engineering solutions to actual problems. The Center also supports critical software tools, hardware, computer networks, and data/audio/video conferencing technologies for collaboration and design. The facility staff made largely of undergraduate students, support the faculty in meeting specific needs for courses and programs, and maintain the Center facilities. The facility is maintained and supported largely by undergraduate students. The resources available at CEDE and The Learning Factory are coordinated for the mutual enhancement of the hands-on learning experience. CEDE is currently used by the Engineering Entrepreneurship Education Program, first year seminars, the Engineering Leadership and Development Minor, the Women in Engineering Program, the Minority Engineering Program, and Engineering Design & Graphics. We envision a continual expansion of courses and programs from within the college that will be using the Center's facilities. CEDE is used for: • Nexus between business considerations and engineering design • Developing engineering design from CAD to rapid prototypes • Testing product capabilities • Product dissection and analysis • Team collaboration using voice, video, and data with industry and international partners • Visualization and communication of design ideas • To discuss the applicability of the facility for a course or program, please contact Dhushy Sathianathan Director of CEDE & Assoc. Professor of ED&G 213D Hammond Building Tel: 865-3165 dhushy@psu.edu • To schedule the facility for a course or program, please contact Bruce Knoll CEDE Supervisor 213G Hammond Building Tel: 863-9076 bwk112@psu.edu • For information and to view classes in progress, please visit the website: http://www.cede.psu.edu • The facility is managed by Robert Pangborn Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies • The facility is supported with funds from College of Engineering State Equipment Grant Agilent Technologies - University Grant Student Surcharge Funds The Learning Factory The Leonhard Center
