  1. The Benefits of Low carb Diet As the saying goes. You can never be too rich or too thin! The American vision of beauty is of a tall thin body. And that is the goal a lot of us work toward (well the thinness, we can’t do anything about it if we are short!) And no matter what the ad says on the latest pill, you can’t lose weight overnight with no effort! For many people though, patience is not a virtue. They seem not to have the ability to afford so much attention, time and money to get. These people result to weight loss practices are. What CAN help you lose weight rapidly If you have ever seen an episode of My 600 lb life. You will find that the doctor on the show immediately puts the patient on a low carb diet to help them rapidly lose enough weight for surgery. I don’t think there is a person on the planet that hasn’t heard of the Atkins diet. Its one of the oldest low carb diets that dates back to the early 70s and was created by a Dr. Robert Atkins. To help his clients lose weight rapidly. He would reduce their carb intake to less than 20 grams of carbs a day which would force the clients body into ketosis. This is generally called the atkins diet phase 1. There are four phases in total. But most people stay in phase 1 for most of their weight loss and move on to the other phases as they get close to their weight loss goals. Ketosis is the process of using your stored fat for fuel! Wow, what a great thing that is! Especially if you have a lot of “fuel” around your belly! Rapid Inch Loss When you force your body into ketosis. Some people don’t experience the rapid weight loss. Some of them experience a rapid inch loss. Especially around the belly! That’s why its recommended that when you start a low carb diet you don’t’ only take note of your weight. They all preach limiting the amount of carbs you eat but in varying degrees. And then limited amounts of vegetables, berries, and diary. While this sounds limiting its not. There are many ways to make everyday meals low carb.
