VRTNICE. ali. Gartrože. Vrtnice spadajo med najstarejše gojene rastline, kljub temu pa so še vedno zelo priljubljene v okrasnih vrtovih.Večina modernih vrtnic izvira iz osmih evropskih in azijskih vrst. Sedanje vrtnice lahko, glede na način rasti, razdelimo na tri skupine:

  2. Vrtnice spadajo med najstarejše gojene rastline, kljub temu pa so še vedno zelo priljubljene v okrasnih vrtovih.Večina modernih vrtnic izvira iz osmih evropskih in azijskih vrst. Sedanje vrtnice lahko, glede na način rasti, razdelimo na tri skupine: gredne, vzpenjavke in grmaste.

  3. V juniju 2008 je dr.Matjaž Kmecl predstavil prvo žlahtnjeno slov. vrtnico, ki jo je poimenoval;PREŠEREN

  4. Brez dvoma so vrtnice rože vseh lepot,imenujemo jih tudi kraljice cvetja

  5. V zgodovini človeštva so vrtnice, torej gojene sorte šipkov, znane vsaj pet tisoč let
