  2. What time zone is korea in? • Korean Standard Time is the time zone of North and South Korea. It is 9 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When it is noon here, what time is it there? At 12:00 PM in Cary, North Carolina, it is 2:00AM in Korea.

  3. How long does it take to fly to north korea from RDU? • If you wanted to go to Pyongyang, North Korea, for spring break it would take 45h 10m to get there and 42h 41m to return including connections. • The cost of this itinerary is $2329.

  4. How long does it take to fly to South korea from RDU? • If you wanted to go to Seoul, North Korea, for spring break it would take 16h 40m to get there and 15h 58m to return including connections. • The cost of this itinerary is $1256.

  5. Describe the climate in korea. • Korea has four distinct seasons. Overall the climate is cooler than most other countries along the 38th parallel. • Korea experiences a server winter. Temperatures can get as low as -5 degrees Fahrenheit, but usually average between 32 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. • During spring temperatures are in the 70s. The climate is pleasant and warm. Occasionally there is a yellow dust storm that flies in from across the Yellow Sea. • During the summer months, the climate is hot, humid, and there are often torrential rains. This is typhoon season which can bring server storms that can cause major flooding. • The autumn is sunny and warm. Yellow dust storms can also occur in this season.

What is the average temperature? • In winter, temperatures are generally between 32°F and 50°F in the day and -10° and 32°F at night.  • Spring and Fall temperatures are usually in the 70s°F. • August is very hot with temperatures often greater than 90°F. • Temperatures in Southern South Korea are somewhat 5-10°F milder in winter and much the same as Seoul during the rest of the year.

Often there is more than 100 centimeters. • Precipitation amounts can vary each year. Droughts occur every couple of years. • 2/3 of the annual rain fall occur in the summer months.
