  1. PubMed Limits Here is the Limits page. Searches can be limited by restricting terms to fields or setting specific date or record tagging parameters.

  10. MY NCBI To access My NCBI, there is a Sign In [Register] option on the top right-hand side of the webpage. We now will Register for My NCBI.

  11. MY NCBI 2 We now have to fill in a short Registration page. We will need to select a User Name and a Password. Make sure this is written down for future reference. We will also need to set up a Security Question in case we need to ask PubMed to supply us with a new password.

  12. MY NCBI 3 An E-mail address is required. When completed, click on Register.

  13. MY NCBI 4 We will receive a confirmation e-mail from NCBI. When we receive the e-mail, we will need to click on the link in the body of the e-mail message to verify our new My NCBI account.

  14. MY NCBI 5 We enter our Username and Password into the boxes and click on the Sign In button

  15. MY NCBI 6 Once in My NCBI, choose the Filters option from the left-hand menu.

  16. MY NCBI 7 We need to choose PubMed as a database from those listed.

  17. MY NCIB 8 In this example, the Free Full Text filter has been applied.

  18. MY NCBI 9 To find the HINARI Filter, we need to Search filters.

  19. MY NCBI 11 HINARI Enter HINARI in the search box and press Go.

  20. MY NCBI 11 The filter will now be applied. Now, return to PubMed to see the new results tabs.

  21. MY NCBI 12 We have now done a search for Public Health Policy. There are now three results tabs, All, Free Full Text, and HINARI. Note that these now are the default tabs for HINARI/PubMed searches.

  22. MY NCBI 13 We have chosen to save the search and receive regular e-mail updates. We can choose some options for e-mail delivery.

  23. MY NCBI 14 The first option is delivery day. This can be either daily, weekly, or monthly on a specified day.

  24. MY NCBI 15 We can also specify the record display format from the standard PubMed Display options.

  25. MY NCIB 16 To retrieve saved searches, click on the My NCBI hyperlink.
