Multiple Meanings SAT vocabulary • Subscribe (v.) - To believe in • severe (adj.) - Austere, rigid • Qualify (v.) - To modify or soften the severity of a statement • Modest (adj.) - Simple, unadorned • Pedestrian (adj.) - Dull, unoriginal * • Police (v.) - To regulate, control* • Pore (n.) - To read over or study with great attention* *denotes Honor classes.

  5. For your homework, do the following. Create a Power Point using your vocabulary words for the week using the following format: • 1. Create at least one slide for each vocabulary term. • 2. Place the following in the PowerPoint: word, definition, picture, clue/synonym, and a sentence to explain the vocabulary term. You can be creative as you like. Make it into a game like jeopardy or bingo, with music, sounds, or video. The slide should be interesting to the reader. • 3. No white space should be on each slide.( In other words, it should not look like this slide.) • 4. The assignment is due via email or USB by Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013. *Three PowerPoints from each class will be chosen that exemplify the homework activity and will receive a journal pass.
