Update on SIP Working Group Activities in Malaysia

The Nav6 team at Universiti Sains Malaysia is establishing a SIP testbed for university-wide communication. Phase one aims to connect roughly 600 hosts using a pure SIP client, while phase two will involve connecting additional hosts through the Ericsson MD1101 E1 interface. Collaborations within the SIP working group, initiated by Nav6 and MYREN, are underway to promote research partnerships. Additionally, efforts are ongoing to facilitate SIP peering with Universiti Putra Malaysia and develop a High Definition H.323 video conference client.

Current Activities • Nav6 center is currently setting up SIP testbed for University wide SIP communication. • First phase is targeted to connect about 600 hosts using pure SIP client. • Second phase is targeted to connect other hosts thru Ericsson MD1101 E1 interface. • Anyone have any experience?

  3. Activities Update • Nav6 thru Malaysian Research Network, MYREN started a SIP working group to promote collaboration between research partners • Activities in the pipeline • To start SIP peering with Universiti Putra Malaysia thru MYREN network.
