Why am I here? • First, a disclaimer • You want to bring on another pharmacy • Define what a Business Unit is • To identify reasons why your organization may or may not benefit from adding multiple Business Units • Clarify your options when bringing on an additional pharmacy • To give you starting points to get the project put together
Options • Add on a workflow • Add another server • Add on a Business Unit
How to Choose • Interface Considerations • Pharmacy Set up • $ • Pharmacy Resources • Long Term Growth Expectations
DocuTrack & PIS configuration • PIS: • DocuTrack:
Interface • Education on the Direct Connect Interface
Interface • Considerations: • Pharmacy Unique ID • Change in Refill label & Manifest barcode symbology • Affects multiple aspects of the business: • Robots, EMARs, Eprescribing, Dosis, DeliveryTrack and any other application that uses the refill barcode • Time frame for all ‘old’ (barcodes with outdated format) to be refilled and issued new barcode with the pharmacy ID included (30-45 days?)
Document Considerations • Separation of Documents • Searching, Sources, Security Groups, Forms & Cover Pages • Global searches • Centralized processes (no global search folder capability) • Routing Documents (Global Document Import Rules) • EMARs, emails, Zan printer, Scanning (manifests) • Moving Documents • Can not ‘move’ documents from one Business Unit to another (however, you can copy)
Maintenance • Affects: • Upgrades • Compatibility • How will the users be affected? • Management • Security Groups • Workflow • Forms & Cover Pages • Routing Rules (Global vs B/U)
Workflow • Affects: • Ability to Copy Business Units • Allows for easily created streamlined and standardized workflows • Can not delete a Business Unit
