The Key….Developing Good Enrollment Management Principles East Campus Core Design Principles: • Supports an optimum learning environment based on standards of excellence • Reflects a balance of effective resource allocation • Contributes to campus and college enrollment goals • Provides for appropriate faculty and student support systems in all delivery and scheduling methods • Reflects college and community needs • Shared decision-making process for all stakeholders with participation in the communication to constituents • Provides for “best-practice” communication with students

Principles for Academic Affairs Hiring • Focus hiring decisions on what is best for student learning and completion • Focus hiring decisions based on the goals of the institution, fiscal responsibility, and areas of growth to fulfill the enrollment management plan • Focus hiring decisions to provide appropriate faculty leadership [full-time] and support in all program/discipline areas. • Maintain and enhance equity in the distribution of full-time faculty across campuses and disciplines.

Principles for Adjunct Advisory • Work collaboratively and inclusively, bringing together representatives from human resources, academic divisions, Faculty Development, and Campus Administrations to address and overcome the barriers to hiring adjunct faculty in a fast, flexible, friendly, and focused manner. • Support the facilitation of information sharing • Support the development and implementation of uniform and standardized adjunct hiring procedures and standards • Ensure that hiring of adjunct faculty meets Human Resource hiring guidelines • Ensure that hiring of adjunct faculty meets SACS Accreditation standards • Provide training and professional development opportunities prior to and during employment with College • Promote and support diversity

Class Schedule Design Principles • Deans have sufficient time to develop and enter the class schedule. • Provosts have sufficient time to review class schedule before public posting. • Students can see the class schedule early to support planning. • Faculty has sufficient notice of their teaching assignments. • Admissions & Records has sufficient notice to prepare for class input. • Assistant Provosts have sufficient time to coordinate with Deans on facility assignment after schedule is developed. • Everyone understands that the earlier a schedule is developed, the less accurate it is, particularly in regards to faculty assignment.
