  3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY Bilaspur Vishwavidyalaya was established in 2012. However, the institution is now named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya. This university has more than 150 college affiliations with five departments. They offer courses in Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and diploma levels. Bilaspur University also offers certificate courses in a number of streams. Bilaspur University is also very popular for its Ph.D. programs. The admissions criteria for Bilaspur University are based on both merit and entrance tests. Moreover, the University Grants Commission has approved the institution.

  5. HISTORY Bilaspur University was established by the Chhattisgarh Vishwavidyalaya Act in 2011. This Act was under the State Legislature of Chhattisgarh. Later on, the university was renamed Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya. There are around 230 faculty members in the university and it is most famous for its PhD programs. Over the years, Bilaspur University has offered various scholarships as well and continues to do so. The university offers scholarships for most of the students who come from financially unstable backgrounds. The students can apply for the scholarship after reaching either 2nd or 3rd year. Moreover, the students can apply for scholarships, funded by the State government.

  7. CAMPUS Bilaspur University is located in Old High Court Road, in Tikrapara, Bilaspur. The overall campus size is around 68 acres of land. Moreover, the university provides various amenities to the students. There is a hostel for both boys and girls within the campus itself. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology, and there is a library with various resources to refer to. Additionally, the campus also has computer labs, an auditorium, and Wi-Fi to access the digital library and for other educational purposes.

  8. COURSES OFFERED Bachelors: The university offers Bachelors'sBachelors's of Hotel Management, which is for a duration of three years. The selection criteria for this course are based on merit. The university also offers a BSc and MSc, which is for a duration of five years, combined. The specializations for this course is Computer Science and Food Processing and Technology. Masters: MSc, apart from the combined course, has specializations which include Food Processing and Technology, Computer Science, Microbiology, and Bioinformatics. Moreover, the specialization for MCom is Financial Studies and Commerce. Bilaspur University also offers PG Diploma, which is for one year. The candidate is required to fill the admission form which is available on the official website, http://www.bilaspuruniversity.ac.in and the office itself. After filling the form, the candidate has to submit the same along with a few other documents. The required documents list will be given on the website itself. An application fee is charged and then the university will provide the student with further details. The selection process is done on the basis of merit and entrance test. The university reaches out to the selected students regarding the commencement of the classes.

  10. INFRASTRUCTURE Library Bilaspur University has a fully functioning library with many books, textbooks, journals and other databases. Moreover, the students can access the e-books and e-journals available in the digital library.

  11. Hostel Bilaspur University also has a separate hostel for both boys and girls. The hostel has all the basic amenities and the university ensures a safe environment for the students. The students have to pay separately for the hostel and the mess. However, the hostel is INR 8,750 and the mess fees are INR 12070. The fees are the same for both the girls and boys hostel. Each room has a bed, table, fan and other required facilities. Moreover, all the rooms are completely furnished. Other facilities Apart from a library and hostel, Bilaspur University provides other facilities for the students. All the classrooms are equipped with modern technology, there is a projection setup in the most classroom, lecture halls and seminar rooms as well. A majority of the rooms have many technologies to better the learning process of the students. Moreover, the university also has many computer labs, auditorium, cafeteria as well. Other than that, the university has various clubs and activities for the students.

However, many companies participate in the placement drive every year. About 70% of the students acquire jobs every year and the most popular job role during the placement cell is Charted, Accountants. Fee Structure The fee structure for Bachelors of Hotel Management is INR 33,000. Moreover, the fees for MSc courses is also the same. However, this is only for the first year. For the courses of BSc and MSc, the first year fee is INR 13,000. Additionally, the first year fee for B.Com and M.Com is INR 8,400.
