Campus Tour Guide • Good job if you’re really into your university • Flexibility not great because you work during scheduled tour times • Hours vary depending on the season • Pay: $8-$10 • Raises given after a certain amount of time. • Requirements: • Be able to answer questions about the campus • Navigate tour • Keep everybody engaged

  3. Concessions/Stadium Usher • Stadium usher tells people where their seats are • Working concessions is great, but can get crazy during halftime. • You get to see a free game. • Flexibility is bad, since all of the games are scheduled. • Pay: minimum wage

  4. Student Librarian • You check books out and put them away • You may have to manage the computer systems. • During downtime you can read and work on homework. • Flexibility is good because of student employees • Hours are more manageable because many libraries close early • Pay: $11.42

  5. Office Assistant/Desk Assistant • It’s the person who sits at the desk in the dorms. • They check people in and out of the building • While working you can use your computer and get some homework and studying done • Flexibility is great because most managers allow students to select what hours they can work • Pay: $8-$10

  6. Computer Lab Assistant • It can be for the sciences like chemistry and biology, helping a Doctor in the research lab, or helping students in the class lab. • Flexibility isn’t great because of lab and research times. • Pay: $8 to $11

  7. Resident Assistant/RA • Resident Assistants get a significant amount of perks • You get free room and board • You make a decent amount of money • You need to be able to respond quickly. • You have to write up people, deal with crisis situations, come up with bulletin board ideas, icebreakers, and other activities.

  8. Tutor • Flexibility is highly rated because you usually schedule with the student you assign. • This allows you to make changes when you’re busy • If you are going into teaching tutoring will look good on your resume • Pay: $10-$15

  9. University Bookstore Worker • Flexibility is decent because they are mostly student staffed, so management understands student commitments. • Hours can be hectic at the start of each quarter or semester. • Pay: minimum wage or a little more • Raises are available

  10. Cafeteria Worker • Flexibility is great because bosses understand that they’re scheduling students. • Hours tend to vary • Pay: minimum wage • Raises are available

  11. Babysitter • Watch young children while parents go out. • You can advertise through your school newspaper. • If you get babysitting jobs at night, you can always work on homework after putting the children to sleep. • Pay:$10-$15
