  3. Activities 2008-09 • Three meetings with Stakeholder Group (October, February, June) • Two meetings with 10 Early Adopter schools (December and May), plus two individual visits with school teams • Presentations to Careers Advisers in Glasgow & Edinburgh (January) and Inverness (May)

Feedback from Stakeholders Develop insight into usefulness of languages in range of areas Develop greater learner independence Raise the employability of students One university intends to offer entry into Year 2 Concerns Positives • Professional staff development • Exemplification of timetable and staffing models • Exemplification of topics and procedures • UCAS tariff

Feedback from Early Adopters Concerns Positives • Uncertainties about delivering the IP • No additional time allocation • Few students eligible for award in 2009-10 • UCAS tariff • Eligible students very positive about the IP • Staff can see the potential of the IP • Some schools have got workable timetable models • Strong support from SQA during 2009-10

Activities 2009-10 • Participate in SQA national Baccalaureate events • Support all Language Baccalaureate candidates and their teachers via dedicated online forum and individual advice sessions (http://bac-chat.wetpaint.com) • Identify/Develop models of good practice • Help disseminate project findings via Scottish Languages Review • Promote the award to universities in Scotland/UK • Collaborate with Chambers of Commerce to help highlight the importance of the award to other stakeholders, eg senior managers in schools
