  2. Interior Design class background • I have been teaching Interior Design for 13 years • Offered to 9-12 grade……2-3 sections offered per year • Text book – Homes – Today and Tomorrow • Used occasionally • Please share your ideas 

  3. Daily... • Term of the Day • Good way to get the day going and learn new terms

  4. 3-D Bedroom Assignment • Measurements of students bedroom, including furniture, and window/door placement • ½” graph paper

  5. Snap shot Project • Group project • Poster created • Presented to class • Includes pictures taken outside of class time • Housing styles • including roof, doors, and window styles • Prior to Project housing styles are studied

  6. Floor Plan Drawing One level - minimum of 2 bedrooms, kitchen/dining room, living/family room, 1 bathroom and a foyer. Prior to assignment the following are studied: • Room sizes • Zones • Circulation/Traffic pattern • Blueprint symbols

  7. Elements and Principles of Design COLOR INFO • Edible Color Wheel • Tri-fold worksheet • Themed Color Wheel

  8. Elements and Principles of Design • Elements and Principles of Design Project - Booklet • Color Pages • Magazine or Internet Pictures showing Elements and Principles of Design

  9. Background treatments • Wall treatments • Window treatments • Floor coverings • All treatments figured for the floor plan • Math In Design worksheets

  10. Furniture • Furniture style brochure • Clearance spaces and arranging furniture practiced • Furniture added to the floor plan

  11. Final Project • Design 2 rooms from an actual floor plan • Write an essay with the clients wants/needs • Create a Poster
