  10. Roles & Responsibilities - Bradford 1. Initial Setup • Activate sources. Inform MIMAS when sources have been activated. • Decide on customisation and branding for SFX Menu. Provide CSS stylesheets to MIMAS if required. • Decide on active targets. Provide MIMAS with URL for: FAQ, local feedback form, ILL/DocDel. Define target order in SFX Menu. • Provide local holdings in Excel or tab-delimited text format (include at least ISSN, local threshold). Check results of load into SFX for errors. • Nominate a contact point. Keep a diary of events! This to include reasoning behind decisions, experiences etc. Promote service. Monthly Maintenance • Investigate any changes to sources, targets or target services that may affect Bradford. • Investigate holdings changes in monthly KB updates, via 'REPORT of new items on Ex Libris website'; 'REPORT of changed items' and 'REPORT of deleted items' on the SFX server web page. • Inform MIMAS if any changes are to be made to holdings following each monthly KB update, and provide these holdings in Excel or tab-delimited text format (include at least ISSN, local threshold).   12. R&R - MIMAS 1. Initial Setup • Advise and customise SFX Menu as required. • Activate targets as required. Provide generic FAQ to build on, and examples of other FAQs. Set up target for FAQ. Set up target for local feedback. Set up target for ILL/DocDel. Set up target order in SFX Menu as required. • Provide initial holdings information from KB in tab-delimited text format. • Check local holdings files for errors. Load local holdings into SFX. Provide results and brief analysis of loads. 2. Monthly Maintenance • Investigate any changes to sources, targets or target services that may affect Bradford. • Provide 'new.txt' files to Bradford that come with each monthly update. These can be downloaded from the Ex Libris FTP site, and contain new OBJECTS in the update. • Load monthly local holdings changes as required. Provide results and brief analysis of loads. Results – Hosted, Bradford(Since July 2002) • 36 active Sources - most significant: ISI Web of Science, ASSIA, Proquest ABI/INFORM Global, EconLit, Philosopher’s Index, SportDiscus, Medline (OVID), AMED, CINAHL, PsycInfo, zetoc & MetaLib (though not currently rolled out to Users) • 26 active Targets including: ACM Journals, Ask a Librarian, COPAC, EBSCOhost EJS, Sciencedirect, FAQ, MCB Emerald, Highwire Press (including ‘Free’), ISI Web of Science, Bradford OPAC, Nature, Proquest ABI/INFORM Global, SwetsWise, Blackwell Synergy, Wiley Interscience • Over 4,000 full text journals linked via SFX • Only branding was to use University house style for SFX menu. • “Reaction from Users at Bradford has been overwhelmingly positive” • “partnership with MIMAS has given us a relatively pain-free transition into the service and a solid basis on which to build our combined SFX/MetaLib service.“ The ITAM Project JIBS/UKOLN OpenURL Seminar, 17th September 2003
