  4. Currently Popular Wirings Router modem PSTN with ADSL/ISDN splitter PC • Check DP or PB • Check wiring of splitter Ethernet Fax PSTN Network Digital PBX IP Phone Ethernet • Have him consult his IT section PSTN Analogue port Analogue line Fax

Advanced Wirings (IP Telephony: VoIP) Router modem PSTN with ADSL/ISDN and VoIP • Check VoIP setting • Check Modem’s spec. • Check VoIP provider PC • T-Com campaigns DSL package with such a router, so apparently this solution becomes popular in Germany. • The known device is Eumax 300IP. Ethernet Analogue port The VoIP is set on the router modem. Analogue line Fax PSTN with ADSL/ISDN Router modem • Check the configuration. • Check adopter’s spec. • Check VoIP provider • Check the setting on PC Analogue line Interface The VoIP is set on the PC and the adopter USB PC Fax • Known interface devices are “VoSKY”, “Rapidbox”, “SkyBox”, “Nexphone”, which support Skype as the VoIP solution. Basic communication: • Fax behave in a very polite way. • They start from handshaking. • Introduce each other at the beginning, and tell their capability. • Messengertells as easier as the listener can understand. • Messenger tries if he speaks too fast or not before he starts telling the main subject. • Messenger always confirms the listener whether he understood or not. • If the listener don’t understand well, the messenger repeats exactly what he missed. (ECM mode) • If the listener don’t understand well, the messenger tells it to his boss. (Non-ECM mode) • They don’t leave without saying “Bye (DCN)”

  7. Basic protocol (up to 14400bps) Hello. I’m G3 Fax. Hello. I can receive fax with the following mode. OK, then I’m sending fax in this mode. Can you hear it clear? No Problem OK. So …. <The message is sent> That’s all. OK, understood. Thank you. Bye.

  8. Hello. I’m G3 Fax. Basic protocol (Super G3) Hello. I’m Super G3 Fax. Oh, me too. OK, then Let’s test to decide the signal speed. Please send the signal in xxxxx bps. Then how about this image transmission speed? I can receive fax with the following mode. I’m sending images in this mode. Yes. Because it was no Problem OK. So …. <The message> … That’s all. Bye. OK, understood. Thank you.

Note: Fax/Tel Switch • With pseudo CI function • The fax can ring the remote telephone, so it may helps customer who install the fax and the phone in separate rooms. • Hi-end Fax (More than Fax-L380 series) • Without pseudo CI function • The fax can ring itself instead of the connected telephone or the handset, so it’s suitable for customer whose desk is close to the fax. • Laser MFP and Low-end Fax (up to Fax-L295)
