  1. Part 5: Using FindIt!

  2. When to use Find It! FindIt! has several possibilities: Item is easily available and has a direct link or… Item has to be located in a database, or… Item has to be ordered through Illiad

  3. Option #1 Find IT! provides direct link to full text YAY!

  4. If you land on HTML version, switch to PDF

  5. Option #2: Sometimes FindIt! knows article is available, but doesn’t link to it directly.Still a YAY!

  6. Browse to article, similar to Journal Finder

  7. Scroll through the table of contents to find item

  8. Option #3 in FindIt!: Use Journal Finder. Meh.

  9. Follow the steps previous demonstrated for Journal Finder

  10. Option #4 Uh oh! No full text in FindIt!

  11. If no direct link is available, double check Journal Finder first

  12. If Journal Finder returns zero resultsand you really want item…

  13. …order the article through ILLiad Local students may want to see if library carries the print version of the journal

  14. Link will open Article Request form and fill it outfor you; scroll down to submit the request

  15. Email notification that the item is ready; 2 business days to 2 weeks, depending on availability

  16. Item should be downloaded & saved and/or printed out

  17. Using Find It! What are the 4 choices you might get back? Hint: Yay, Yay, Meh, Uh oh!
