CONCORRENT EVALUATION STATUS Area, Production & Productivity of Boro Paddy increased by 3.76%, 7.20% & 3.35%, respectively Coverage of Boro Rice in 2008-09 was 52136 ha. i.e. 94% increase over previous year Seed distribution is increased from 782 qts. of Rice, 74269 qtl. of Wheat & 940 qtls of Pulses to 20995 qts, 179618qts, & 2369 qts. respectively Six times increased in machineries distribution 10 times increase in Plant Protection Chemicals distribution

  13. (ii) Reasons for decline in Productivity Severe flood in major rice and pulses growing districts

  14. Reasons for increase in Productivity Distribution of quality seeds on time SRR improved in wheat and Rice Increased use of Micro nutrients Increased use of Plant Protection Chemicals Increased use of machineries and agricultural implements Training to farmers in Farmer’s Field School

  15. 5. Key constraints and achievement in implementing with suggestion Frequent Flood in NFSM districts Low seed replacement rate Lack of skilled Farm labours Less availability of Breeder and Foundation Seeds Price variation in Farm machineries and micro nutrients Lack of awareness in using plant protection measures

  16. Issues • One lakh quintals of wheat seed increased under NFSM Wheat to compensate drought in Kharif • The work programme of NFSM-Rice revised and Rs. 6.61 crore adjusted for NFSM-Wheat. • Demand for Pump sets, Rotavators and Sprayers is increasing Mechanization fund may be increased • The remaining fund of NFSM-Wheat may be released
