(theme) Use contemporary, easy-to-understand language. In a line by line, rewrite the sonnet for a modern audience. Your group’s personal reaction to the poem. Is it relevant? Shocking? Outdated? What could this poem be paralleled to in modern times? An illustration that supports the theme of the poem On the actual poem, annotate for the following: Label the rhyme scheme on the poem. Scan each line and label the meter, separating the different metrical feet. List any literary devices used in the sonnet (puns, metaphors, conceits, similes, alliteration, consonance/assonance, etc.) Separate and label the 4 sections of the poem. Circle the descriptive words that stand out to you.
