SUPERLATİVES .Süperlativelerde en az 3 şeyi karşılaştırılır. .Süperlativelerde sıfatın önüne 'the'eki getirilir. 1-Tek Heceliler *Sıfat tek heceli ise sonuna 'est'getirilir.Sıfattan önce 'the' kullanılır. Ex: short - the shortest tall - the tallest cold - the coldest small - the smallest cheap - the cheapest young - the youngest dark - the darkest long - the longest poor - the poorest slow - the slowest

Ex: 1-Jenny is the tallest girl in class (jenny (sinıfının en uzun boylu kızıdır) 2- Erzurum is the coldest city in Turkey (Türkiye' deki en soğuk şehir Erzurumdur.) 3- Kızılırmak is the longest river in Turkey (Türkiye' nin en uzun ırmağı Kızılırmağıdır.) *Sıfat tek heceli ve son üç harfi sessiz- sesli- sessiz ile bitiyorsa ; son harf "çift" yazılır. Sıfattan önce "the" kullanılır. Ex= wet - the wettest fat - the fattest thin- the thintest big- the biggest hot- the hottest slim- the slimmest Note:Ancak son harfleri 'w,x,y,z'ile bitanlerde son harf çift yazılmaz.Sıfattan önce 'the'kullanılır.

  3. Ex= slow- the slowest new- the newest *Son harf 'e' ile bitanlerde yanlızca '-st'getirilir.Sıfattan önce 'the'getirilir. Ex= fine- the finest late- the latest lorga- the lorgast wide- the widest like- the likest safe- the safest large- the largest *Bazi sifatlar sonu'-ing,-ed,-s'ile bitiyorsa tek hecelide olsa 'the most'ile yazılır.

  5. 2-İki veya daha fazla hecelilerde *İki veya daha fazla heceli ise sıfatın önüne 'themost'getirilir. Ex= intelligent-the most intelligent dangereous-the most dangeraous handsome-the most handsome comfortable-the most comfortable 3-Son harfi (Y)ile bitanler *Tek heceli ve son harfi 'y'ile biten fakat önceki harfi sessiz ise 'y'düşer,yerine '-lest'getirilir.Sıfattan önce 'the'kullanılır.

Ex= happy - the happlest lazy - the lazlest ırety - the ıretlest tidiy - the tidilest early - the earllest lovely - the lovellest heavy - the heavlest ugly - the ugllest hungry - the hundrlest easy - the easlest funny - the funnlest lucky - the lucklest preatly - the preattlest angry - the angrlest Note:Eğer sıfat iki veya daha fazla heceli ise bu kural uygulanamaz.Başına 'the most'kullanılır.

Ex=Kızılırmak is the logest river in Turkey The nile is the logest river in Turkey İstanbul is the most crounded city in Turkey Mount Ağrı is the higest mountain in Turkey Lake Van is the logest lake in Turkey Everest is the higest mountain in the world Mahir is the tallest sutudent in the clasroom
