  2. DECEMBER 27, 1959 Giants defensive assistant coach Tom Landry became the head coach for the Cowboys.

  3. 1961: Bob Lilly was selected as the Cowboys first ever draft choice.

  4. Dallas Cowboys first team Photo: 1960. This players were from 12 teams, the Cowboys selected 36 players in 1 day, 3 from each team.

  5. The Cowboys didn't win any games their first season, but they tied one with New York, 31-31.

  6. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1964. This Hall of Fame quarterback is considered by most to be one of the best ever at his position.

  7. Cowboys win their 1st Super Bowl against Miami, 24-3.

  8. Cowboys made NFL history in the Philadelphia game by making two 100 yard runs. Amos Marsh and Mike Gaechter

  9. The Cowboys gain their 2nd Super Bowl victoryagainst Denver, 27-10.
