  2. What is a Director of Medical Education anyway? • An administrator • A consultant • Someone responsible for your training in Fife

  3. What does the Director of Medical Education do? • Oversee trainee matters eg rotas, GMC survey results, trainee complaints • Sign your IT forms and take responsibility for what you do with IT (!) • Sort out trainers and trainees (if I need to) • Deal with any problems

  4. What are you expecting? • You don’t care, as you don’t want to be here anyway • you are dreading this job • You are looking forward to this job • You are only really interested in your rota

  12. Core Teaching Deanery teaching eg GIM, Psychiatry CMT – Tuesday 8.00 – 9.00am VHK (Dr Mark Francis) GPST – Wednesday 8.30-9.30am VCR QMH&VHK (Dr John Moy) Foundation: (Dr Sonny Mowbray; Mr Andy Ballantyne) F1 – Tuesday 1-2pm both sites F2 – Thursday 1-2pm both sites

  16. Your relationship with your Supervisor … • He should organise the meetings • You should know who he/she is in first few days • You should meet at least twice in the post • You are responsible for recording the content of those meetings
