  1. 7 ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE CHILDREN’S LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

  2. Language is an important skill that allows us to communicate with others in a meaningful way. Language development is a crucial part of your child’s overall development. As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”, so it is wiser to devise plans and start prepping them in their early stage of life. However, it should be kept in mind that progress will vary as per the speed and age of the child. Here are some activities to improve children’s language development: 1) Keep Talking  Little kids make a lot of noises from their mouths when they try to speak. Keep talking to them, they will be encouraged to speak and understand by observing you. Let your little one enjoy and blabber till he/she gets tired. Involve them in conversations.. 2) Read Stories To Them  Reading stories to them helps them understand the emotions behind a particular phrase. The more they listen to you read; the more they will be able to create a certain logic behind an emotion. Let your child participate and make them repeat what you say.

  3. 3) Listen To Music  Engage in musical activities. Let them sing and hum to different tunes. Sing along with them and observe their activities whenever the song is played or changed. 4) Appreciate Your Child’s Efforts  Your younger one is still learning, let him/her make a lot of efforts and always appreciate whatever he/she does. Even if they say or do wrong, correct them softly with all the love and care. 5) Minimal Use of Technology  Better to keep children away from the television and computer. Expose them more to nature and its beautiful creations. 6) Tell Them to Read Aloud  This will help them to speak properly. It will also help them to understand different pronunciations and improve their speech. 7) Just Follow Them  Just enjoy the process of your little one learning to speak and talk to you. Slowly and steadily, he/she will surely pick up the best communication skills.

  4.  At Childventures Early Learning Academy, we know that language development begins in infancy, so our Infant Program is geared toward teaching children to communicate.  Take a look at our blended curriculum and educational programs for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten.  For information visit www.childventures.ca or call us at 905-332-7539.
