  1. HP-CAST NTIG April 1 2008 Agenda and objectives • Why HP-CAST NTIG? • Historical perspective from NSC's point of view. • Agenda. • Miscellaneous Torgny Faxén (faxen@nsc.liu.se)

  2. Why HPCAST-NTIG? Quite easy to find many potential benefits: • Face-to-face customers and HP • Support issues, bring them to surface early on, open and frank discussions • Customer feedback for enhancements/requests • Joint projects • Nordic large system sites and users, common interests and cooperation. However, not certain that this is enough. A successfully and rewarding meeting requires a setup that is useful and worth the time for customers as well as HP. Let's try to find that during this meeting.

Historical NSC perspective. • During the T3E days NSC , CSC and NTNU had meetings twice a year with Cray and later SGI/Cray (Origin). • Quite simple and straightforward -> easy to organize • Part of the meeting was for customers only • Priority list of issues was compiled before the meeting. • Technical talks on topics of interest delivered by Cray and later SGI. • Worked well.

  4. Agenda • Today. Get to know each other, phase 1: - Site updates - HP update on near and long term future developments - Neolith tour • Tonight. Get to know each other, phase 2 - Dinner at restaurant ModMed (Scandic City Hotel) • Tomorrow. - HP technical presentation and support and service update - Priority list, compiled by sites only. Followed by joint discussions sites+HP. - Future direction of NTIG. Suggestions welcome! - Next venue, suggestions welcome! Summary.

  5. Miscellaneous • If you need taxi for tomorrow, send an email to kriwi@nsc.liu.se with your request. • Hotels, getting back and forth to NSC. Bus 202 between town center and Campus Valla (bus stop outside house Terra).
