Project partners: Saint Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers (SPb STUPP), North-West Russia - a project coordinator ( Nadezhda Khodyreva, Oleg Yanush, Tatiana Markova ); Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Department of Chemical Technology, Finland( Satu-Pia Reinikainen, Jarno Kohonen ); Aalborg University Esbjerg (AAUE), Denmark ( Sergey Kucheriavskiy ); 4. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics Russian Academy of Sciences (ICP RAS), Moscow, Russia(Oxana Rodionova, Alexey Pomerantzev)

SPb STUPP (briefly) Specialized field - integrated training of specialists for industrial enterprises engaged in in-depth chemical processing of wood (the pulp and paper industry) as well as for the energy sector There are 6 traditional faculties and a new one: Chemical Engineering; Environmental Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Automated Process Control Systems; Industrial Power Engineering; Economics & Management; Humanities - a new one An overall task of the university representatives in the field of the project subject-matter – to integrate elements of an Internet chemometrics course to be developed into university educational process at the Master’s Degree level One more target – to master the method for its using in research

Project Goal and Targets A goal - development of a concept of Mastership Programme in Chemometrics with emphasis on distance and virtual learning Targets - Information: Summing up project countries experience in chemometrics education including virtual courses as well as information about software products available and used in chemometrics training Educational: Identification of requirements to software products to be most suitable for virtual chemometrics education; Development of recommendations for introducing a chemometrics course into Master’s Degree curricula of technological universities (the SPb STUPP Faculties of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in particular) Research: Developments in applied and theoretical chemometrics to be discussed at the Saint Petersburg one-day conference in presentations of project participants and Saint Petersburg scientists

Schedule of Project Events (according to Alexey proposals) The Workshop at the Aalborg University, AAUE, on September 30 – October 2, 2008 (agenda has been distributed) Workshop in Saint Petersburg, SPb STUPP, 4 days on February 9 – 14, 2009 (including one-day scientific-methodical conference) Final Meeting in Lappeenranta, LUT, 3 days on May 11-15, 2009

  6. Some Formalities (from the Letter of Approval) The network/project has been awarded a grant of DKK 140 000 The grant is intended to cover mobility activities of the persons participating in network cooperation. The period of project implementation:from the date of application approval (10.08.2008) till the end of May 2009 The amount payable in advance:80% of the total sum (DKK 112 000) Obligations:to submit academic and financial reports within one month of the project completion but no later than on June 30, 2009 The remaining 20%of the grant will be paidon approval of the reports. Whenever referring to the project granted (in publications, websites, and conferences), the Nordic Council of Ministers is to be mentioned as funding resource of the network activities

  7. From the Letter of Acceptance Obligations 1. To use the grant of DKK 140 000 in accordance with the purposes given in the application…and the Letter of Approval (all receipts must be kept in the case of an external audit) To submit academic and financial reports on the use of the grant by June 30, 2009 To return any unused funds to SIU, alternatively to the Nordic Council of Ministers, by September 1, 2009 4. To send invoice for DKK 112000 (80% of the total amount) that is equivalent to Euro 14 995,88
