  1. Math Practice #4 Model with Mathematics

  2. QC2 Write down any questions and/or comments you have in regards to math on a post-it notes and place it on the poster at the back of the room. These will be addressed at the end of the session.

  3. Review of Math Practices • MP#1 – Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. • MP#2 – Reason abstractly and quantitatively. • MP#3 – Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.

  4. Graffiti Walk Get ready to graffiti it up using math!!!

  5. There are six people wanting to cross a river by canoe, 2 children and 4 adults. The canoe can carry either, 2 children, or 1 adult, or 1 child at a time. What is the minimal number of crossings the canoe will make in order to transport all people to the other side of the river?

  7. How do we Model? Work with your group to determine all the many different ways your students can model with mathematics given a specific task.
