  1. Know about the Network Video Recorder and its Specification A network video recorder (NVR) is a application program that records video in a electronic format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD memory card or other mass storage device. An NVR includes no dedicated video capture hardware. However, the software is generally run on a devoted device, usually with an included operating system. On the other hand, to help support increased performance and serviceability, standard Linux system and Windows operating systems are used with conventional Intel processors and video management software. An NVR is generally implemented in an IP video surveillance system. Network video recorders are unique from digital video recorders (DVR) as their insight is from a network instead than a direct connection to a video capture cards or tuner. Video on a DVR is secured and processed at the DVR, while video on an NVR is protected and processed at the camera, then streaming to the NVR for storage or distant viewing. Additional handling may be done at the NVR, such as further compression or tagging with Meta data.
