  1. 1. Manage Yourself • Read the PDO House Rules and PDO HSE Golden Rules • Check your own Compliance status and rectify if needed • Ask for a one-to-one meeting with your supervisor

Manage Others • Show the Golden Rules video at a team meeting • Arrange for one-to-one meetings with each of your direct reports • During the one-to-one meeting: • Go through each item of the PDO House Rules and PDO HSE Golden Rules • Discuss how he/she is to implement these rules • Agree task/behaviours and include in PC (suggestion) • Contractors to adopt personal safety contract • Confirm that you had the one-to-one discussions

The Golden Rules • Comply with the law, standards and procedures • Regularly check you(r reports) compliance • Intervene on Unsafe or non Compliant actions • View video “A Shadow of a Doubt” about intervention • Report unsafe situations Web based • Assess you(r Reports) participation level • Respect our Neighbours • Participate in SD team activities

Suggestions for HSE task/behaviours to be included in individual Performance Contract (PC). • No non-compliances by end of each quarter • Attend the HSE Intervention class (STOP) • No more than one direct report in non-compliance status • Report at least one Unsafe condition per Month • Attend an HSE Inspection • Conduct an HSE round for your team • Lead a HSE session e.g. • Preventing repetitive strain injuries • Stress prevention/mitigation

Guidance for One-To-One discussion • Line Leaders, must drive • One to One with each member of your team • Fundamentals: • Each is responsible for own safety pointing out colleagues unsafe behaviour • Supervisors are responsible for their team's safety as well • These Fundamentals need to be captured in day-to-day accountabilities or they have no meaning

  6. Purpose One-To-One discussions • Must lead to public commitments by yourself and direct-reports • Familiarisation with PDO House Rules and PDO HSE Golden Rules • Discussion what each person can do to keep themselves and their colleagues safe • Contribute to improving HSE performance of PDO and Contractors • All personnel to make meaningful commitments that can be captured as HSE tasks/behaviours in their PC.
