  1. Downloading the bitstream • Connect parallel port to PC

  2. Downloading the bitstream • Connect power supply to XC40-10XL Board • Connect Pin 52 to GND • Connect Pin 54 to 3.3 V • Connect Pin 2 to 5 V • Set Bios to ECP • Install the XSTOOLs software utility

  3. Downloading the bitstream • Type “xssetclk xs40-010xl 100” in DOS

  4. Downloading the bitstream • Place a shunt on the jumper 12(turn off power supply first) • Process downloading • Turn off Power supply and remove the shunt from the jumper 12

  6. Downloading the bitstream • Use the XS Board Test Utility to test this board • Choose XS40-010XL+ • Set port to LPT1

  7. Downloading the bitstream • The 7-segment LED displays “0”and passed the test

  8. Downloading the bitstream • Drag and Drop the bit stream file on the GXSLOAD program

  9. Downloading the bitstream • Test your design
