  5. Leadership Role of the Media Specialist The media specialist must fulfill many roles within the learning community to foster a successful media program. These roles include instructional partner, teacher, instructional specialist, and program administrator. I have presented these roles in detail in a power point presentation. 6. Tour of the Media Center The media center has many resources available to the school community. Many times the patrons of the media center are not aware of all the resources that they could be using. One way to make the patrons more aware of all of the services and resources of the media center is through a tour of the media center where they can view at their convenience. I have created a presentation to reach this need. Tour of the media center Table of Contents

  7. Policies and Procedures Handbook One of the most important parts of a successful media program is the inclusion of and active use of a policies and procedures handbook. The policies and procedures that are set forth for the media center should be the driving force in the decisions that are made within the media center. The policies and procedures manual is the rock of the media center and is the foundation of organization and efficiency of the media program. Policies and Procedures Handbook Table of Contents

  8. Course Reflections Each course through this program has lead me to the learning of many skills and standards that have prepared me to be an effective library media specialist. Each thing I have learned has been connected to an American Library Association/American Association of School Librarians standard and a College of Education descriptor. I have reflected on the things I have learned in each course. Course Reflections Table of Contents
