  2. 一、商务标识小贴士： • 标识是为了向公众传递某种特定的信息而将简单易懂的单词和短语结合图形、符号等设计制作而成某些指示、说明或规定的意思的公共信息牌；常见的标识包括交通标识（traffic sings）、商用标识（business signs）、公共场所常用标识（public signs）以及其他标志用语等。标识的语言特点： • 在语言运用上力求吸引人们的注意力（catch people’s eyes）,尤其是 商业标识及店铺的招牌（signboard），更是追求夸张甚至是令人惊讶的效果，例如EOM（end of month sale）月终大廉价，Grand Sale/ Bargain Sale大甩卖，Big Price Plune大削价等等。 • 标识的字数要精简到最低限度，可以是一个词，如IN, OUT, DIP, HUMP，一般最长不超过十几个词；很多时候甚至会用一些发音相同的词、字母或数字等，例如4 SALE，MERRY X’MAS!等。 • 为了强调所传递的信息，标识常常使用大写字母，且不加标点符号，如STOP, EXIT, DEAD END等。 • 常用名词、动名词或名词短语形式，常省略冠词，如No Smoking, Drug, Fast Lane等，或使用祈使句，如Please Do Not Disturb. Do Not Enter. Please Use Revovling Door等。

  6. 二、标识的翻译技巧 （一）去繁从简 根据原语所处的具体语境，充分解释原语所隐含的意义，把原语的意图表达出来，而不用拘泥于字面的意思。

  7. 杭州是我家，清洁靠大家 Hangzhou is my home, its clearness depends on all of us. or Keep Our City Clean. 注意安全，请勿攀爬单边墙 Pay attention to your safety. Don’t climb the single wall. or No climbing.

  8. （二）遵从习惯 标识语是一种特殊的题材，其表达方式是根据长期习惯而形成的，翻译时不能仅仅根据汉语的字面意思生硬地表达，而应遵从英语的习惯。

  9. 小草微微笑，请你走便道。 Little grass is smiling slightly; please walk on pavement. or Keep off the grass. 前方修路，请慢驾驶。 Road work ahead. 单行道 One way

  11. （三）程式化套译 由于标识的结构越来越国际化，而文字表述比较固定，因此翻译时可以采用程式化的方式来进行套译。如“禁止做。。。”，可以套译为“No+名词或者动名词”的形式；表示“专用”，可以采用“名词+only”的形式；表述“请勿做某事”，可以采用“Do not+动词”的表达方式。

  14. （四）反面着笔 英汉两种语言都存在着从正面和反面表达一种概念的现象。在翻译时，汉语的正面表达可以用英语的反面表达来实现；汉语的反面表达也可以通过英语的正面表达来实现。有时候标识语的翻译可以通过这种方法来达到一种很好的转化。
