Assumptions • The “paradigm shift” from disease to health will happen • Emory/Georgia Tech can play a leading role in changing the health care model • An Institute with this focus can enable a unique organization of disciplines with health focus • Full participation by disciplines across Emory and GT is necessary for full realization of Institute potential • Such an Institute is a realistic goal in the current environment

Guiding Principles • Content must take optimal advantage of existing strengths across Emory and GT and clearly contribute to a unique “signature” for Predictive Health at Emory/GT • Institute must facilitate interactions among disciplines • Institute must create a clearly identified new program that synergizes with existing programs • Institute should create a magnet for relevant existing research and for recruiting new world class faculty
