  6. What we’ve done since July 1, ‘02 • 100 MTAs executed • 60 CDAs executed • 18 SRAs assisted, $324,000 leveraged • 6 Licenses, 2 Options • Currently Negotiating ~ 10 Licenses/Options • 64 New Invention Disclosures • Revenue year-to-date: $5.2 Mil

Accomplishments in last 18 months • Combined 3 prior tech transfer functions into one central office • Hired 5 new professional staff, 5 support staff • Installed and populated new database (JAKE) • Redesigned website and invention disclosure form • Moved into new office space—centrally located • Published first annual report; quarterly newsletters • In FY02, increased revenue 50% over prior year; FY03 projected to be almost double FY02

Case Technology Ventures • Multi-million $ “pre-seed-stage” fund managed by TTO at Case Western Reserve University • Start-ups based on University-owned IP • Recently awarded $1 Mil from State of Ohio Technology Action Fund • Provides capital (50-250k) to start-ups for: • Prototype development • Management team recruiting • Startup legal expenses • Business plan development • Facilities

Our Goals • Bring more CWRU technologies to market • Encouragement of university spin-off companies • Over-all financial results for the university • Technology Transfer as a strategy for development, industrial sponsored research and recruiting/retaining the best research talent • Proactive emphasis of regional economic development
