Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for contracts with a new wind facility (Granite Wind) and a new solar photovoltaic facility (FSE Blythe). Granite Wind results from SCE’s 2006 RPS Solicitation, and FSE Blythe results from the 2007 solicitation. Both contracts are priced at or below their respective market price referents and are crucially dependent on extensions of federal tax credits. The Energy Division recommends approval, with SCE required to report specific payments associated with these contracts to the Commission.
