  1. Observances: Flying of paper lantern The main differences are: Diwali festival Hindu's traditional festival. Falls on the one new moon night (Amavasya) between mid-October and mid-November. Mainly observed by: Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists. Significance: Celebration of the victory of good over evil; the uplifting of spiritual darkness.

  2. Type: Religious, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Surinam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji (National holiday in these countries). Date: Decided by the luni-solar Hindu calendar. Observances: Prayers, Religious rituals. Lantern festival Chinese traditional festival. Celebrated on first month 15th of Chinese Lunar calendar. Mainly observed by: Chinese, Vietnamese. Significance: Marks the end of Chinese New Year. Type: Cultural festival. Date: 15th day of the 1st month (lunisolar year). Observances: lanterns and different clothing.

  3. Why we celebrate Diwali? On this day, Shri Ram Ji, had came back to his home after exile of 14 years. Diwali is celebrated for this remarkable happening . When Shri Ram Ji came back to Ayodhaya, all people were happy and they celebrated Diwali.

  4. How we celebrate diwali? We celebrate Diwali by burning crackers. We wear neat and clean clothes on this day. People start cleaning and dusting their house before 20 days of Diwali. People do various types of programmes like Ramlila. People burn cartoons of Ravana, Kumbhkarana, Meghnath.It is celebrated all over India.
