  1. Planning a Party Essay Planning a Party The process of planning a party takes a lot of time and focus to get every detail covered. First of all, you must decide where you will have the party, maybe a club house or your own home. When you have that decided then there are several other steps you must take in order for your party to be successful. You have decided on a location, and now it is time to make a list of the people who will be attending. Make a list of everyone you want to attend and do not forget their family members who may come with them. You may want to allow everyone to bring a friend if they are single, or you suspect they will come alone. Fill out your invitations and get them in the mail at least two weeks before your event. Now...show more content... Be aware that sometimes the advice you get may not be what you want to hear, so you might want to warn the person up front that you are just getting advice, and that you may or may not use it. I have found when planning a party, people I seek advice from often get the idea they are taking over which can lead to big problems. It is always better to be very clear up front that you are only asking for advice, and not for them to plan the party for you. Making a list for food, decorations, and games is going to be the most frustrating part of the party planning because this will make or break your party. Keep in mind that you may not want to have so much food that you have a lot of waste. If you are planning to fill everyone up then it is a good idea to use foods that are filling, like starches. You may want to have a sit down dinner or just hors d'oeuvre; whatever you decide try to plan so you do not have a lot of waste. R.S.V.P is very important for this area of the party, so try to emphasize this in your invitations. After people have eaten they are ready for some fun. You must keep your party flowing so no one will get board. Games can be uncomfortable for some people, so make sure the games are not embarrassing. Board games are good, and charades are always a favorite for the more outgoing type. Some people will not play games; just sitting and talking is a very normal part of a party. Do not get worried that they ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  2. Essay on Decision Making Decision making can be described as a process of making a decision or decisions, based on choices made amongst two or more competing course of actions. The 'Decision making' also requires making a define choice between two or more alternatives course of actions that are available. In every decision making, there is said to be a positive and negative outcome as future consequence(s). The importance of decision making in individual daily life and in organization level was demonstrated by two scientists, Arkes and Hammond (1992), in 'Judgment and Decision making' indentified the four types of information which decision maker requires constructing a decision tree. 1. What are the available courses of action(s)? 2. What are the...show more content... Psychologist Herbert Simon further established and categorized decisions into two categories; Programmed Decisions and Non–Programmed Decision. Programmed decisions are type of decisions which are routine and repetitive, of which are within the frame work of organization policies and rules. Such polices rules are established in advance to solve a re– occurring problems within the organization. Such programmed decisions are usually taken at lower management level and tends to have a short–run impact on organization. In contrast, the Non– Programmed decisions which are type of decisions which are non–routine and deployed to resolve non–routine problems, they are relevant in solving unique and unusual problems that arises, of which the alternatives cannot be decided in advance. Non–Programmed decisions are usually of high importance and significance with long–term consequences on organizations, such decisions are decided at the top management level. A model of decision making known as the Rational Decision Making Model arises from organization behavior. This includes working through series of five stages path from problem identification and to the solutions. 1. Define the problem. 2. Identify the decision criteria. 3. Compare each option against pre–determined criteria. 4. Select the best option 5. Implement the best chosen option. The Rational Decision Making Model ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Essay about Training and Development Training and development has become increasingly essential to the success of modern organisations, yet some still look at training as a problem or as something that is not taken seriously. Training and development is one key approach used by organisations to improve and maintain the capabilities of its workforce. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, being that training tends to be more closely focused and adapted towards short–term performance concerns, while development tends to be adapted more towards expanding an individual's skills for future responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). The main reason that organisations train their employees is to bring their knowledge, skills and abilities up to the...show more content... Furthermore, spoiled work, damages, and accidents to equipment and machinery can be kept to a minimum by well trained employees, continued training helps employees develop their ability to learn by adapting themselves to new work methods, learning to use new kinds of equipment, and adjusting to major changes in work relationships and job content, also, through training, new employees learn to measure up to standards for performance, thereby satisfying their human need for personal growth and increasing their value to the organisation (Pigors and Myers 1977). Similarly, Longenecker and Fink (2005) assert that the benefits derived from training are manifold, and these include; exposure to new and better practices and ideas for application, leads to reflection, self–appraisal and retrospection, motivates employees to improve performance, encourages career development planning, helps identify specific performance problems and challenges an employee to think differently, to name a few. Other benefits are a more flexible workforce, improved performance of existing employees, decreased supervision, higher skill levels and reduced learning time, thus reducing learning costs, improved organisation morale, and to ensure for succession (Molander 1989). ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. Introspection Essay The dictionary describes introspection as the examination or observation of one's own mental and emotional processes. Kevin Woods stated, "Introspection are all about getting to know yourself at the core, uncovering your values and then deciding for yourself what's the best action to take." Your emotions and feelings play a major role in why we do things. If we listen to our feelings then we can find more things about us that we didn't know. This could benefit us and help us appreciate more things and live but also may make us overthink some times. Karl Perera mentioned, "Introspection is good in small doses. If you are feeling very tired or have no energy and can't find a solution as things keep rolling through your mind over and over then it is time to stop." Overall, everyone connects with things differently; it is interesting to notice how you feel in certain situations. I recently just lost a ring that was given to me a couple years ago. I was devastated and felt irresponsible. I have always wanted a Pandora Ring so this devastation led me to get one. I did a little research to figure which one I wanted on the Pandora website. My mom also had a Pandora book that I gazed though. I narrowed it down to a rose gold or a silver ring. I figured once I got into the...show more content... 5. Process: The Writing Process The writing process has several rules. I have selected three of the rules to focus on throughout the paper. Rule one, pre–write. I have found it very difficult to write in the past without at least creating an outline to follow. Brainstorming or just writing whatever comes to mind down on a piece of paper help develop a foundation for what I want to write. Prewriting is so important because it takes all your ideas and puts them into one safe space where you can decide which path you want to take with it. Decide how you want to approach your topic and what kind of audience you want to speak to. You get to simply just write and develop without any restrictions. Rule two, drafting; This is all about building on your foundation that you developed in your pre– writing phase. An established idea helps decide which direction one should take. In this phase you will branch off of your thesis, start to write sentences and paragraphs, supporting your opinion. You will refer to resources and develop the information in your paper. As you write your paper will start to develop structure, your ideas will come together and those ideas support your references and resources. You want to make sure as you draft that you try to develop an order for your paper,...show more content... Although it isn't a necessary step, it is one I like to take. It gives you the opportunity to clear your mind and come back to your paper with a refreshed view. It helps to read your paper aloud as well. This allows you as the reader to hear the paper from your audience's point of view. More importantly, you want to read through your draft and look to make sure you fix any spelling and grammatical errors. As suggested by the 'Brief Overview of the Writing Process.' created by D. Herring (LinkedIn SlideShare) one should check for only one type of error at a time so that you don't overlook any mistakes within your ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  6. Essay about Business Challenges 1. The most significant challenge to business success you see in this rapidly changing global economy; One significant challenge to business success in this rapidly changing global economy is that many business are focused on efficiency and economic of scales. Just like the example provided by Michael H. Hugo on Chapter 1, many companies are focused on lowering operating cost as much as possible. This is causing for executives not leave any room for unpredicted changes limiting the company's ability to respond to customer's changing needs. 2. An organization that has been successful in the global marketplace using virtual teams and the best practices it used (as discussed in Chapter 7 of Business Agility: A Sustainable...show more content... While this is a practice enforced throughout the company, it was necessary to make sure that this communications were clear to the virtual team in order to maintain morale and the team's trust in the company. 3. How the Marketplace simulation incorporates these challenges into simulation game play; The Marketplace simulation incorporates these challenges by providing student with real–world business problems and roles. Team members are challenged to make decisions and used critical thinking in order to solve this problems virtually. While The Marketplace gives the team the tolls necessary to have effective communication, ultimately each team members contributes to the overall success of the team, just like in a real business situation. 4. How your readings and individual self–assessment work provide potential solutions to these challenges. The unit's readings have provided many solutions to the challenges businesses encounter nowadays. To this day, there are many companies that have business plans that concentrate strictly in lowering operating cost, cut budgets as much as possible and overwork workers that already are overworked. Some of this solutions include: * Thinking of the costumer's needs and being able to respond to their ever changing needs * Management needs to be transparent and make sure to communicate with employees, especially when the organizations is making ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  7. Essay on Lifelong Learning Lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and non– formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. Whereas informal learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and knowledge from daily experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more content... The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started. We will always need additional learning to be able to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the job training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you advance in that position or get you another position with that company or another company. For example, If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get that additional education to pursue your dream that you have. Working a job and having a career are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my education. I wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more. The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan, sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an unstructured environment – known as everyday life. Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following four ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  8. The nursing process Essay The standards of practice describe a competent level of nursing care as exhibited by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This practice includes the areas of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nursing process includes significant actions taken by registered nurses (RN) and forms the foundation of the nurse's decision–making ("American Nurses Association," 2010). Assessment is the accurate collection of comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation ("American Nurses Association," 2010). Assessment is the first step in the nursing process and the most important. Assessment is the accurate collection of the patient's health date...show more content... It is during the second phase that the nurse must establish a nursing diagnosis. Only diagnosis approved and listed through The North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) may be used. Ineffective airway clearance, risk for impaired skin integrity, risk for infection and ineffective coping are just a few examples of NANDA approved diagnosis. A nursing diagnosis is a clinical judgment about actual or potential individual, family, or community experiences/responses to health problems/life processes. A nursing diagnosis provides the basis for selection of nursing interventions to achieve outcomes for which the nurse has accountability (Defining the Knowledge," 2012). The third standard of practice is outcomes identification. During this phase, the registered nurse identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation ("American Nurses Association," 2010). During this step outcomes must be derived from the nursing diagnosis and must be measurable, realistic and attainable by the patient. The registered nurse involves the patient, family, heath care providers, and others in formulating expected outcomes when possible and appropriate. The registered nurse must also consider associated risks, benefits, costs, current scientific evidence, expected trajectory of the condition, and clinical expertise when formulating outcomes ("American Nurses Association," 2010). Example of an ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  9. Essay on Photosynthesis Photosynthesis is a biochemical process in which plant, algae, and some bacteria harness the energy of light to produce food. Nearly all living things depend on energy produced from photosynthesis for their nourishment, making it vital to life on Earth. It is also responsible for producing the oxygen that makes up a large portion of the Earth¡¦s atmosphere. Factors that affect photosynthesis are light intensity and wave length, carbon dioxide concentration, and temperature. Plants are autotrophs that mean they are able to synthesize food directly from inorganic compounds, instead of relying on other organisms. They use carbon dioxide gas and water to produce sugars and oxygen...show more content... The surface of the leaf is uniformly coated with a water–resistant waxy cuticle that protects the leaf from excessive absorption of light and evaporation of water. The transparent, colourless epidermis layer allows light to pass through to the mesophyll cells where most of the photosynthesis takes place. To metabolic pathways involved in photosynthesis are light reaction and dark reaction. The first stage of the photosynthetic system is the light–dependent reaction, which converts solar energy into chemical energy. Light absorbed by chlorophyll or other photosynthetic pigments is used to drive a transfer of electrons and hydrogen from water to and acceptor called NADP , reducing it to the form of NADPH by adding a pair of electrons and a single proton. The water or some other donor molecule is split in the process. The light reaction also generates ADP, a process called photophosphorylation. ATP is a versatile source of chemical energy used in most biological processes. The light reaction produces no carbohydrates such as sugars. In photosynthesis, the dark reactions are chemical reactions that convert carbon dioxide and other compounds into glucose. These reactions unlike light–dependent reactions do not need light to occur. These reactions take the products of the light–dependent reactions and perform further chemical processes on ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  10. Night To His Day Analysis Gender is a social construct that consists of a set of social arrangements that are built around sex. Gender roles are sets of behavioral norms assumed to accompany one's status as a male or female. According to Lorber, Gender is a social institution because these gender roles are being changed over time. Moreover, she defines gender roles as process of creating distinguishable social statuses for the assignment of rights and responsibilities. As a process, gender creates the social differences that define "woman" and "man." In social interaction throughout their lives, individuals learn what is expected, see what is expected, act and react in expected ways, and thus simultaneously construct and maintain the gender order. In this paper, I will discuss how the article untiled ""Night to His Day": The Social Construction of Gender helps clarify how gender roles is a social constitution. She states, "As part of a stratification system that ranks these statuses unequally, gender is a major building block in the social structures built on these unequal statuses. Gender ranks men above women of the same race and class." This shows gender creates unequal opportunities between women and men.be cause the way the system has being, women are perceived as people who need to the men in order for them to be able to function in society. Moreover, because women do easy jobs compare to the men, therefore, men should lead the way. This ideology is the reproduction of gender inequality because people are not given the chance to prove what they are capable of doing without being pushed back against the wall, specifically women. In thinking of gender roles, I can relate to it. My dad often time tells me that I look serious. He always tells to smile or to dress up nice because that how a woman should ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  11. How My Writing Has Changed Essay My writing styles have changed drastically over the past four years of high school. This memo will explain how my writing has changed and how my knowledge of writing has improved. Aspects of My Writing during High School During my English courses throughout high school, I learned many things from writing simple journals, research papers, and a single term paper. During high school, I was laid back and procrastinated for much of my work. During the latter part of high school when I wrote my term paper my senior year, I found out that working a little every night writing a few paragraphs helped me out greatly. I was not just throwing something together just to get the grade and the paper finished. I spent time on the paper and...show more content... I do this so the information is true, and also in order from which events have occurred. When I wrote my term paper my senior year I was well organized. I was required to write about an event in history. I chose India Uprising of 1877 as the topic of my paper. This topic was not interesting at all, but I chose to write about it. When I finished writing my thesis and outline, I wrote note cards about the different topics, which allowed me to gather all my information and organize it in which different events occurred. When I was finished with the paper, it sounded and read consistently and it all flowed together. How These Experiences Prepared Me for College Writing I have written many different types of papers for all of my classes throughout high school. For my science classes, I have written several labs in the form of essays. Writing the essays was different for me because I did not really know that science had much to do with writing. It took me a while to gather all the information I needed to finish my lab assignments. Writing lab reports will definitely help me in my science courses in the next four years. The journals I have written came from my four years of high school English. Everyday I came to class there would be a topic on the board. I took five minutes each day to write about the given topic. It was brainstorming and giving our input on whatever the topic was. I think ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...
