Using MASS
In design, mass refers to the size and weight of each element—graphics, photos, lines, shapes, or text blocks—relative to the entire composition. There are two types of mass: physical size and visual size. To leverage mass effectively, use it to convey mood or emphasis, such as through bold typography or varying font sizes. Additionally, mass can create contrast, making important aspects of your design stand out. Follow these guidelines to enhance the visual experience of your work with effective use of mass.
