  2. Irregular Preterite Verbs There is a whole set of irregular preterite verbs in Spanish. These verbs have NO ACCENTS! THEY ALL HAVE IRREGULAR STEMS. They also have irregular preterite endings. The endings for irregular preterite verbs are: e, iste, o, imos,(isteis) ieron Some of the most commonly used irregular preterite verbs are:-

  3. Irregular Preterite Verbs • Estar – to be • Poder – to be able to/can • Poner – to put • Saber – to know (to find out) • Tener – to have There are many other irregular preterite verbs. These are just 5 of them.

  4. TENER – to have • Tuve I had • Tuviste You had • Tuvo – he/she/you had • Tuvimos We had • Tuvisteis You (plural) had • Tuvieron You (plural) had
