  4. Introduction Expo in Shanghai 1. Preparation  48,000 million US dollars (1.54 ล้านล้านบาท) - In comparison, it is twice more than the expenses spent in Olympic Games in 2008 2. Area: 5.28 KM2 3. Pavilions from more than 190 countries and more than 50 international companies 4. This is the greatest of all - 1st Expo in 1841 (159 years ago)

Average visitors per day = 360,000 people 12. To visit the pavilions of Germany, England, Saudi Arabia, Japan, France, Italy, U.S.A. etc. - People have to queue upfor more than 2-3-4 hours.

The ff. documents must be submitted to the chairperson for each semester before the semester begins • Portfolio - number of teaching hours indicating clearly normal load and extra hours -subjects taught in that semester - your research work if you plan to do one - your services outside the univ. - Assignment for administrative work 2. Course Outline 3. Time schedule indicating clearly teaching hours and advising hours

  15. Submission of Grades: • Strictly follow the deadline • When grade “I” is given, remark must be made and do inform the deadline to change “I” grade

  16. QA • Everyone should understand clearly the procedures of QA • Each one of you forms a part of it through your portfolio • Each semester complete your portfolio (1st + 2nd + Summer) AR • Your must assess yourself (SAR) • Plan how to improve yourself (OYPB)

  17. Projects In case, you are in charge of any project, (i) you have the duty to prepare your project and (ii) submit it to your chairperson and dean for approval (iii) Evaluate the project (iv) Clear the budget obtained within the deadline specified (v) Submit it to your chairperson and dean

Discipline (University dress code, rules and regulations related to students’ conducts and mannerism) b. Class attendance (punctuality and absence rate) c. Active class participation (class activities) d. Class performance (group activities, discussion, presentation)

  24. e) Evaluation of the Teaching & Learning Process(cont’d) 2) Instructor Evaluation Instructors are evaluated according to the following criteria: • Teaching all classes in English • Preparing course outline, teaching materials and assessment tools • Explaining class objectives, contents, activities, evaluation methods clearly • Teaching covering both the depth and width of the subject • Demanding rigorous studying discipline from the students

Expertise in classroom management, including: - Good preparation - Interesting and effective methods of instruction - Use of experts and other resources - Good communication skills - Empathy toward students g. Starting the class on time and making full use of class periods

You should be frank and sincere and trust your chairperson. This means at the end of each academic year, personal dialogue and engagement should be done.

  30. Teaching Evaluation (By Student) Our Goals 1. All courses taught by both full-time and part-time lecturers should be evaluated 2. Students’ responses should be obtained from at least 80% of students in each class for a valid and accurate data analysis

  31. Teaching Evaluation (By Student) (cont’d) 3. Students with knowledge gained from lecturers and with the lecturers’ English language as a medium of teaching and learning. (Two highest-scored items) 4. Students needed to be motivated for their interest in classes (Two lowest – scored items) - to include class exercises or activities that require more participation and involvement from students – and to be interactive

  34. What it should be • To be an authentic educator - with passion and love in your work 2. Raise your self above the demands and regulations 3. With passion, dedication, commitment, and sacrifice…. - it becomes a calling
