Central Barrel Requirements/Rules • Sensitive volume must have thin direction in Direction • Z direction || to ALICE Global Z direction • Must follow ALICE naming and numbering conventions • Sensitive volume name ITS1, ITS2, ITS3, ITS4, ITS5, & ITS6. • Note, layer, Ladder, and Detector numbering schema not allowed (does not follow ALICE standards). • Follow hardware conventions when ever possible • Avoid inversion • Use measured positions when known • Make Detectors repositionable independent of other non-sensitive objects • Make volume/object names meaningful • Note, location of non-sensitive material known to about 1mm absolute only.

  13. Conclusion • Good start • Much new code still needs to be committed • Much work still to be done • SPD services a high priority for FMD and PMD background.
