Highlight of Current Activities • One of strategic directions of CCSA • Instruction from Prime Minister • 12th 5-year planning of the state • Dedicated Technical Committee (TC10) with close collaboration associating other TCs within CCSA • CCSA’s effort in global consolidation of M2M standards • As one of the founding SDO of oneM2M • Active contribution and leadership in ITU-T FG M2M / GSI IoT • Conferences and events for international collaboration • IoT workshop with IEEE (June 2012) • ITS workshop (March 2013) • … (please visit CCSA website or consult CCSA Communiqué for more information)

Highlight of Current Activities CCSA TC10: Ubiquitous Network TC1 TC3 TC5 TC8 14 technical specifications / technical reports published, currently 48 standards projects in progress • CCSA work on M2M standards Different Technical Committees (TC) contributing to components of M2M standards WG1: Common Requirements & Architecture WG2: Industry Applications & Services WG3: Network Optimization WG4: Inter-layer between Macro & Area Network With 12 specifications or reports transferred to oneM2M

Next Steps / Actions (1) • Standardization • Timely response to market needs • Clear market-focused driver • Global participation / adoption • Right Market Timing • Promoting for adoption of standards (in less IT-developed industries) • Co-developing industry standards (with more developed industries) • Reduce the fragmentation of standards • Consolidation • More re-use of existing standards rather than creating new ones

Next Steps / Actions (2) • Efforts beyond standards • Telecom industry effort • actively offer to solve problems (based on network solution) rather than waiting for solution from other parties (e.g. App based solution) • Partnership in the value chain • e.g. ISV, service provider, connectivity provider, hardware provider, etc. • Alliance across industries • Regulatory issues • Business model negotiation
