  3. OUR HISTORY • Founded 2003 • 2009 - Division 2 State Finalist • 2010 - St Louis Youth Champions • 2010 - Division 1 State Finalist • 2011- State Playoff participants • 2011 - JV 3rd in State • 2013 - #5 Final Ranking (Quarter Finalist in State)

  4. 2013 NUMBERS High School • 60 Players • Varsity, JV and Freshmen Youth • 120 players • 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th and 8th grade teams

HOW WE COMMUNICATE Website:www.eurekalacrosse.com • Schedule Changes • Communication • Via e-mail/texting Make sure… • E-mail addresses and phone numbers are up to date • Text messaging info accurate (including carrier) • Add “LeagueAthletics.com” as a valid sender • Check Spam/Junk e-mail folders (Add sender’s domain to safe sender, if in junk folder)

PLAYER EXPECTATIONS CODE OF CONDUCT • Membership of this club is a privilege not a right. • Your club fees provide you the opportunity to work out but your attendance, attitude and ability earn you play time and respect. • The use of tobacco, drugs or alcohol of any kind will not be tolerated • ELC teams Direction • Freshman is designed for player development. • JV becomes more competitive. • Varsity level is reserved for our top performers.

  7. PARTICIPATION • Attendance and participation at practices is required. • If a player will miss a practice, coaches should be notified as soon as possible. • Any unexcused missed practice is grounds for disciplinary action.

  8. LEADERSHIP • Honesty and integrity displayed on and off the field • Positive attitude win or lose • Team player, Championships are won by teams not individuals. • Student of the game – learn from success and failure • Apply what you learn and teach others • 100% effort at practice and games – desire wins games

RESPECT THE GAME • Respect Coaches and Teammates at all times. • Respect Opponents and Officials at all times • Show good citizenship towards facilities that host our practices and games • Unsportsmanlike conduct will NOT be tolerated • Abusive or foul language will NOT be tolerated • Intimidation or hazing of any teammate will NOT be tolerated

  10. 24 HOUR RULE A Eureka Lacrosse Member should not approach a coach or discuss with a coach a game or incident that would provoke an emotional response or create a potentially hostile situation until at least 24 hours after the fact. • Why? • Lacrosse is a passionate/emotional game • Emotion can get in the way of rational thought • Move confrontational discussion away from other players/parents

COACH-PLAYER-PARENT RELATIONSHIP • Steps to achieve a resolution… • Player address situation with coach first • If no resolution, Player and Parent address with coach • If no resolution, address with Vice President. • Why? • In most cases, establishing communication between player and coach addresses the issue • These are all skills needed in high school and beyond

SIDELINE BEHAVIOR RULES • Your behavior reflects… • On you • Your son • Your club • Follow rules set forth by location • No alcohol/tobacco use on Rockwood grounds! • Bottom Line – Inappropriate behavior not tolerated! • First occurrence – conversation with board member • Second occurrence – asked to leave • Third occurrence – Meet with board • Fourth occurrence – banned from premises and possible law enforcement action

  14. SIDELINE BEHAVIOR RULES - CONTINUED • Respect your coaches and team managers • Unless you are assisting with game (stats, coaching, trainer), please sit on spectator side of the field. We had refs complain that there were too many people by the table last season.

EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY • Parents • Check equipment at start of season and weekly • Talk to your player • Ensure what you sent is being worn (cups and rib guards) • Care • Hang out nightly • Wash regularly/hang dry • Consider boot dryers (cleats/gloves) • Really stinky: Johnny Mac’s cleaning • Players • Check you gear daily

REGISTRATION OPEN • See Website for registering www.Eurekalacrosse.com • $450 for the season • $100 due at time of registration • Balance due on or before February 1st, 2014 • Cost per player is approximately $950 • Fundraising is critical to the club operating in the black! • Buyouts do not cover our financial need, we need your participation!

FUNDRAISING Shakespeare Pizza Sales • Each player is required to sell 20 pizzas.  • $125 buyout fee • The forms and money due on Sunday, November 17th.  • Pizza pick up is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3rd at 6PM. at Eureka High School parking lot. If you can’t be there please make arrangements to have someone pick it up for you.

  27. FUNDRAISING Pork Butt Sales • Each player is required to sell 8 Pork Butts @$35 ea..  • $125 buyout fee • The forms and money due on Thursday, January 16th.  • Pick up is scheduled for Saturday, January 25th from 8-10AM at ASAP BBQ (tentative). If you can’t be there please make arrangements to have someone pick it up for you.

FUNDRAISING Trivia Night • Scheduled for Late February 2014.  • Each player is required to purchase two (2) tickets for the evening.  • The buyout value has been placed at $150 The following documents will be on our website: • Flyer for the Trivia Night • Entry Form –We sold out last year. • Donation Form – to be used for any donations and/or round sponsors you may receive

FUNDRAISING Schnucks – eScrip • We have an account with Schnucks.  • Every time you use the card our club receives up to 3% back into our checking account. • All you need to do is activate a card and start shopping. • Feel free to encourage other family members to activate their card in our club name.  • Cards can be picked up for free at any Schnucks store. • In 2013 we earned $300 with very little participation. This could easily be $1000 a season.

FUNDRAISING OVERVIEW • All documents for fundraising can be printed from our website. • Forms will be updated soon. • Shakespeare Pizza is ready to go. • Volunteers needed to assist with the Trivia Night event: • picking up donations • making baskets • setting up the morning of the event • judges for the evening • selling tickets for games during the event • clean up

  31. WE NEED YOU!! Our club is volunteer run and we need all families to help for a successful season. New this year: Parents will be able to select a volunteer opportunity(ies) at time of registration. Some of the available positions: • Game Day Scorers • Field Prep • Game Video Taping • Party Planners • Fundraising
