    4. Update on QEC Progress Installation of direct landline for QEC use Staff recruitment. Self Assessment Program being implemented at 10 teaching departments. Assuring provision of stationary/ printed material to departments Visiting departments to get proformas filled in correctly Providing assistance regarding preparation of SAR Budget preparation and submission to university authority.

    8. Update on Selection of Departments for Self Assessment Documentation QEC , GC University, Faisalabad

    9. Executive Summary of the Selected Departments for SAP Right now, the Self Assessment Program is being implemented at 10 academic departments of the University. In the beginning, two model departments MBA Home Economics were selected to go through full fledged SAP. However, all the Self Assessment Proformas were communicated with the HODs and Program Teams of each and every academic department.

    10. Update on selection of departments for implementation of SAP As directed by HEC in 12th meeting of QECs held at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan on 28-04-2009, attended by Coordinator QEC, GCUF, in addition to 2 initially selected departments where the said program was already being implemented, the following 4 more departments were selected to make a total of at least 6 programs to go through Self Assessment. New Selection: Botany English Commerce Statistics

Update on selection of departments for implementation of SAP 21-July-2009: Vice Chancellor directed to implement the SAP especially the Teachers Evaluation in at least 10 teaching departments every six months. New Selection (Adding up to 10): MBA Banking and Finance Islamic Studies Linguistic Chemistry

    13. Preparation of SAR Department of Home Economics Self Assessment Report (SAR) being prepared; has completed filling in all the proforma for the program of M.A. Home Economics. Department of Business Administration Self Assessment Report (SAR) being prepared; has completed filling in all the proforma for the program of MBA .

    14. Update on Implementation of SAP Department of Statistics Has completed filling in all the proforma for the program of M.Sc. Statistics, except for proforma no. 1 & 10 from M.Sc. Statistics, 2nd semester. Department of English Has completed filling in all the proforma for the program of M.A. Department of Linguistics Has completed filling in all the proforma for the program of M.A. Linguistic.

    15. Update on Implementation of SAP Department of Banking and Finance Has filled in 1st and 10th proforma for MBA. Department of Chemistry Has filled in 1st and 10th proforma for M.Sc. chemistry. Department of Commerce Has filled in 1st and 10th proforma for M.Com. Department of Botany Has filled in 9th proforma for M.Sc. Botany. Department of Islamic Studies Has filled in 1st and 10th proforma for MA Islamic Studies.

Implementation Plan Selection of departments bilaterally with departmental consent Setting time frame for proforma filling Most easy one, first; we statrted with circulating Faculty Resume Then circulated Faculty Survey Proforma Course Evaluation and Teacher Evaluation proforma were scheduled to be filled in by students during the semester final examination

Implementation Plan However the last four departments were included in the mid of July during semester final examination followed by summer vacation Have returned Proforma no. 9 & 10 filled in by students for Course and Teacher Evaluation respectively. Other proformas will be returned by faculty and research students during and after summer vacation.

    19. Implementation Plan Interacting with Program teams Providing stationary and/ or printed proforma As verbally demanded by the departments, the photocopies of proformas to be filled in by faculty and students were provided by QEC to overcome the shortage of printing facility and stationary at their end. Monitoring the implementation of SAP QEC team members divided departments and got the proforma filled in under their supervision and guidance.

    20. Preparation of SAR We have issued guidelines for the preparation of SAR to the HODs and Program Teams of respective departments. Our respondents protest that they do not have enough time available with them because they are always busy in administrative work and teaching assignments. They require that their HODs may spare them from other departmental business to give them enough time for the compilation of SAR.

    21. Action Plan for Next Quarter QEC, GC University, Faisalabad

    22. Action Plan for Next Quarter Preparation of Self Assessment Report Teaching departments of the university are on summer vacation for one month w.e.f 10-0-2009, after that, remaining proformas will be collected from the departments. SAR will be prepared for all the 10 selected departments. Self Assessment Program will be implemented at 10 more teaching departments of the university.
