  1. The front of the I, ROBOT cover looks to be a compilation of several pictures, easily joined by using a program such as Photoshop, starting with the background and placing the images onto one another in order ending with the image of Will Smith, shadow and other depth of field effects may be applied to deepened the illusion. The image on the back cover could have been made by using Photoshop by first getting an image of the sky for example then changing the hue and vibrancy on it using the adjustment layer option and brightening it then changing the hue to the desired colour. The image of Will Smith on the back cover has been made in Photoshop by first using the quick select tool to select the image then placing the image over the background then using the blur tool, blurring the edges behind him to make it look as though he is in motion when actually he is still. Adobe Illustrator can be used to alter text in almost anyway using anchor points, so by starting with a vaguely similar font, a title such as the one on the front cover can be done easily and effectively. The M (Mature)Is an extremely simple symbol, which is made even easier when using Adobe Illustrator, Using the rulers to apply the appropriate size, one ellipses with an anchor pointed M inside, should look near identical. The title also has a shadow to it, this can be done using Photoshop by adding a gradient to it or even using the brush tool with with a low opacity and simply shading in the title using the brush As for photo placement, several images are shown on the back of the cover, by creating a rectangle frame, images can be placed in effortlessly, in-design is the most effective program for this, although I'm sure Photoshop would also work similarly .

  2. The wallpaper for the Robocop dvd cover, is almost like grey circuitry, this can be done fairly easily by just applying a wallpaper, or sending an image to the back, this can be done on any editing software, most likely Photoshop or Illustrator The main image of Robocop featured on the front cover, would most likely be edited within Photoshop, selected either with the polygonal lasso or the quick select and refine edge tools, using these tools the image can seamlessly be placed onto a suited background. The blue catch line at the top of the back cover, like the wallpaper could be done on most editing programs but text is most easily manipulated in adobe Illustrator, as it allows for a lot more customization. There has also been a gradient put on the image of the grey circuit to make the backgroundlook more metallic and shiny andthe gradient would have beenblended in with the background image using the blending optionsin Photoshop to make the two images look as though they areone. The background image of the grey circuit has also been rotated in Photoshop to look like it is diagonally slanted. In several places around the case, the lions head mgm symbol appears, this symbol looks to be made up of several different shapes, similarly to how we made the bbfc 18 certificate, in Adobe Illustrator multiple shapes can be layered together and even masked so a symbol like this wouldn’t be too hard. The border around the images on the back cover could have been made in Photoshop by simply using the line tool and creating a rectangle using four lines then giving each line a gradient to make it look 3D then giving the corners soft edges. The image of Robocop has been altered in Photoshop to make it look more sleek and shiny. To create this effect the image may have either had a gradient put on individual pieces of the armor and the angle of the gradient was then changed, alternatively the levels could have been changed in the adjustment layers option to boast the colour.
