National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank Barack Obama believes that it is critically important for the United States to rebuild its national transportation infrastructure – highways, bridges, roads, ports, air and train systems, to strengthen user safety, bolster our long term competitiveness and ensure that our economy will grow.

  13. The Bank will receive an infusion of federal money, $60 billion over 10 years, to provide financing to transportation infrastructure projects across the nation.   19. Amtrak Barack Obama is a strong supporter of federal financial support for Amtrak. As a Senator, he is a co-sponsor of the Passenger Investment and Innovation Act of 2007. As president, he will continue to fight for Amtrak funding and reform so that individuals, families and businesses throughout the country have safe and reliable transportation options.
