  2. Paso 1 - Afirmativos • To form the command for tú • Use the present tense form for usted • ¡Come las verduras! ¡Habla más despacio!

  3. Paso 1 - Negativos • To form a negative command for tú • Use the yo form of the verb Yo hablo Yo como Yo hago Yo duermo

  4. Paso 2 - Negativos • From the Yo form, DROP the Yo and O- Yo hablo habl Yo como com Yo hago hag Yo duermo duerm

  5. Paso 3 - Negativos • Add No. ¡No habl ¡No com ¡No hag ¡No duerm

  6. Paso 4 - Negativos • Add the opposite tú form ending For –ar verbs For –er and –ir verbs --as --es ¡No hables! ¡No comas! ¡No hagas! ¡No duermas!

  7. Ejemplos • Come más verduras. No comas muchos dulces. • Habla español. No hables inglés. • Haz tu tarea. No hagas un sándwich. • Duerme ocho horas. No duermas en el piso.

  8. Los Irregulares • Ir No vayas • Ser No seas • Estar No estés • !No te preocupes! Sé feliz porque estás en la clase de español.
