  1. Happy Friday! Warm up: How do Hall and Mead’s view on adolescence compare? If Everett is not sure of his identity, but is not trying to figure it out either, which state is he in? Jane has decided to go to UNC and become a counselor because it is what her parents told her she should do. What type of identity has she developed?

In groups of 4  • You will each be given a different section of your chart to fill out • Number yourselves off: 1-4 • #1: Page 118-120 Gender Differences • #2: Page 120-122 Origins of Gender Differences • #3: Changing Gender Roles • #4: Gender Roles around the world • You are to read your assigned section/article- take down notes in your section as you read • Once all members are done VERBALLY share with one another!! VERBALLY PEOPLE! 

How do the ads measure success? 3. What are the characteristics of ads with men in them? 4. What are the characteristics of ads with women in them? 5. In the ads with both men and women in them, how are the two portrayed together? 6. How do these generalizations from the ads compare with your own experiences? Do they reflect the gender roles in America?

  10. Create your own advertisement • You are to create your own advertisement • Your advertisement should accurately depict today’s idea of gender roles and acceptance of individuals becoming androgynous • Select a product/service • Who are you targeting? (Male, Female, Both)
