  3. Their Clothing • Their clothing was mostly mended clothes that the women mended. • But in the winter time that changed too Bison Hides to keep them warmer • They also wore feathered Headdresses • Resource---Website:http://en.wikipedia.org.wiki.plains_Indians.

Their Environment /Region • Since it was called the Great Plains that’s pretty much what there region was, plains. • They also had flat lands that would gradually rise from East to West. • Some of the land would erode from the water and winds there. • Finally There mostly grasslands with few trees. • Resource---Website:http://authorstream.com

  5. The Tribes Adaptations • Some of their adaptations was the use of cattle for beef. They also used the long horns of a Bison. Finally they were not just hunters they farmed as well. Some things they farmed were wheat and dry farming. • Resource--Website:http://authorstream.com

  6. The Tribes religious beliefs and view's • These tribes believed in the Great Spirit. They named the Great Spirit Wanaka Tunka. • The Indians believed that Wanaka Tunka had control over everything including the environment, livestock and the tribes people. • Their most important ceremony was the sun dance where they would fast for several days and put there teepee’s in a circle. They would then tie ropes made of hair to the tree and the Indians would dance while glaring at the sun. • Finally the Indians believed that dreams and visions were from Wanaka Tunka and that the Shaman’s ( also known as the healer’s) of the tribe could interpret these signals. • Resource-Website:http://www.mce.k12tn.net/indians/reports4/plains2.htm

  7. The Housing • Most of the housing was teepee’s • Though they were the most common they were not the only ones. Other Indians used wood or log structures as well. • Resource--- Text-Book

Food • Their food was both from hunting and agriculture. • They hunted elk and antelope but there most hunted and most common was their bison. • They farm wheat and they also eat berries, cherries, camas' foot, and prairie turnips as there fruit and vegetables. • Their hunting tools were mostly bows, spear’s and clubs • Resource--Website:http://en.wikipedia.org.wiki.plains_Indians.
