Simply Radical! The tale of square roots
Steps in Simplifying Square Roots Factor the radicand using perfect squares. Take the square root of the perfect square and leave the other factor inside as the radicand. If you pull out a perfect square when another number is already in front of the square root, the two numbers are multiplied
Multiplying Square Roots Multiply the numbers outside the radical together and separately multiply the numbers inside the radical Simplify using the prior method
What about variables!!?? Write variables in long notation i.e: For every two variables inside the radical, one pulls out front of the radical.
Add/Subtract Roots Rule: You can only add/subtract square roots if the two terms have the same radicand. Simplify both square roots first and see if they combine
